Membership Levels

The Tennessee Fire Service Coalition is comprised of organizations meeting criteria for one of three levels of membership. These are Charter Member, Organization Member, and Affiliate Member.

 

Charter Members

Charter members include the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association (TFCA), Tennessee Firemen’s Association (TFA), and the Tennessee Fire Safety Inspectors Association (TFSIA).

1. The following organizations shall be eligible for Charter Organization Membership: The Tennessee Fire Chief’s Association, Tennessee Firemen’s Association, and the Tennessee Fire Safety Inspectors Association. The organizations were responsible for the formation of the coalition.

2. Each of these organizations will have two votes on the Board of Directors.

 

Organization Member

Organization members include the Tennessee Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI)

1. Any organization not eligible for charter organization membership but is an organization of members qualified by training and experience in the fire service shall be eligible for organization membership in this Coalition.

2. Organization members shall be entitled to two votes on the Board of Directors.

3. Each application for organization membership shall be endorsed by an active member of this coalition in good standing who shall certify that he/she is personally acquainted with the applicant, believes the statement contained in the application to be true, that the applicant is eligible for membership in this Coalition, and that he/she nominates him/her for membership in this Coalition.

 

Affiliate Members

Affiliate members include the Tennessee Electronic Security Association and the Tennessee Fire Sprinkler Contractors Association.

1. Affiliate members shall be individuals who are qualified by training and experience in the fire service or could also be a vendor to fire service professionals.

2. The classification of Affiliate members will be entitled to two votes on the Board of Directors once the number of Affiliate members is five or greater. The two votes on the Board is not for each affiliate but for the group of Affiliate members.

3. Affiliate members will pay dues, but these dues will be a lesser amount than the dues paid by charter organization and organization members.

4. Each applicant for affiliate membership shall be endorsed by an active member of this Coalition in good standing who shall certify that he/she is personally acquainted with the applicant, believes the statements contained in the application to be true, that the applicant is eligible for honorary membership in this Coalition, and that he/she nominates him/her for membership in the Coalition.
